These new tools provide a real empowerment of the civil society regarding the political system and the decision making process; but they remain focused on the “traditional fields” of politics. Our hypothesis is that the democracy revolution will be sustainable and inclusive if and only if we go beyond the political agenda. Civic tech open the door to a continuing citizen activity, over the long term, which imply new ways of teaching, learning, sharing and creation. We want to use Civic tech to tackle the grassroots of the engagement and to build together new ways of citizen empowerment through culture and education. This workshop is proposed by Sciences Po - School of Communication and the Center for Research and Interdisciplinarity (more schools to come). This event is designed as a “barcamp” session : participative workshops mainly made of students, teachers, researchers, designers, startups (civic tech, culture, EdTech). About 50 participants will be formed into groups. The outcomes of this event will be drafts of action plan, research topics or prototypes. These results will be gathered at the end of the workshop in a common manifesto. Note that the outcomes of this event will live beyond the OGP Summit ! This Civic tech project focused on culture and education will start in September 2016 and will end in July 2017 with an international Summer school. The students and teachers of different schools and universities will work together during one year, with the help and contribution of the existing ecosystem, to design and experiment new Civic tech objects focused on culture and education. ### Description whiteboard, post-its, pencils, overhead projector ### [submitter - Léa DOUHARD](https://fr.ogpsummit.org/osem/users/645) __Nickname__: leadouhard __Affiliation__: Center for Research and Interdiscipliarity - Paris ### Other Informations __Creation Date__: 2016-07-19 14:49:42 __Update Date__: 2016-07-19 15:00:21 __Expected Audience__: 50
