New evidence on the Impact of Open Government Reforms

Launch of a new report by the Brookings Institution in partnership with the University of Cape Town, targeted towards policymakers and open government reformers who will benefit from rigorous evidence on the impact of open government reforms

This high-level panel on the impact of open government is based on a recent report by the world-renowned think tank Brookings Institution. Panelists will debate the impact of open government and identify what is known about their return on investment in terms of government efficiency, public accountability and development outcomes. The report provides some of the most rigorous evidence on how policymakers, government officials, citizens and the private sector can benefit from an embrace of open government.

The panel will be moderated by Ambassador Norman L. Eisen, Visiting Fellow in Governance Studies at the Brookings Institution
